“Méi net am Mee” is an initiative that calls for not mowing green spaces in urban areas in May. This year, the member municipalities of the Our Natural Park have also decided to actively participate and not to mow certain lawns in May. This involves raising awareness of lawn maintenance that is more respectful of nature and, by adapting mowing practices, providing food sources and vital habitats for native animal species.

Changing these practices will help bring out and bloom more native wild flowers and plants in these spaces. For example, most wild bees rely on native wildflowers as a food source, they cannot use the nectar or pollen of exotic flowers, and the hedgehog feels particularly good in green spaces maintained in a respectful manner. .

The “Méi net am Mee” initiative is open to everyone.
