Cercle Cité is pleased to invite the public to discover the work SUPERIMPOSITION imagined by Filippo Lilli and Donato Loforese of the Italian collective Polisonum, through the performance which is at the heart of this multifaceted project. This was specially designed for the spaces of the Cercle Cité with a view to its world premiere in its Great Hall. The event is graciously supported by the Italian Embassy in Luxembourg.

The SUPERIMPOSITION project explores the concept of earworms – these sound elements which are coercively grafted to the brain until they become parasites and trigger cognitive control mechanisms.
These sound verses are linked to mass culture such as pop music, advertisements, video games and television credits. They also populate airports, bars, stores, gyms and shopping malls and are characterized by redundant melody sequences that are difficult to break away from.
