Mayssa Jallad

Singer, composer, researcher-architect and teacher in Beirut, Mayssa Jallad draws her musical inspiration from the militant commitment and popular energy of the Lebanese uprising of 2019. Imbued with social protest, her first album, “Marjaa: The Battle of the Hotels”, recounts on a canvas of chiaroscuro songs a part of the Lebanese war, and makes his crystalline voice meander in a noticeably melancholic sound Orient. A tense music, on the constant edge of rupture, at the crossroads of collective memory, political combat and inner fervor.
