The Confessions - theater
Alexander Zeldin, artist associated with Théâtres de la Ville, returns to the Grand Théâtre after the plays Beyond Caring (2016), Une mort dans la famille (2022) and Faith, Hope and Charity (2022), in a production which represents his most recent work. more personal. The Confessions tells the personal epic of a working-class woman – the author's mother – from her birth in Australia, to her departure for London, to her old age and isolation. Zeldin here takes up an intimate story, approached through its most secret passages, to tell the universal story of a collective era and the forces which have shaped our present, such as the changes in social environments and the condition of women, from the 1950s until today. The British author and director, by drawing the portrait of a heart and the marks, bumps and scars it bears, speaks of the dignity of a human being.
