The Paperboys are a globe-trotting sextet that performs Celtic reels, traditional Mexican folk, fiddle tunes, New Orleans brass band music, classic pop songs, bluegrass and even strange philosophical waltzes in only one set. The Paperboys, sometimes called the "Los Lobos of Canada," have performed approximately 4,300 concerts since their formation in 1993. At the heart of the Paperboys is a trio of talented songwriters and musicians: founder Tom Landa, a singer, fedora-wearing guitarist and bandleader who immigrated to Canada. Canada from Mexico as a teenager; Kalissa Landa, a lifelong violinist and singer with a supernatural sense of melody; and Geoffrey Kelly, flautist, guitarist and vocalist for Spirit of the West, who was already a Canadian music icon when he boarded the Paperboys bus in 1997.
