The exhibition “A Soft Spot on Tough Skin” by Dutch artists Laurence Herfs and Aaron Boot explores the theme of self-discovery. Their individual journeys converge, allowing them to share common experiences in the context of queer culture. Boot and Herfs challenge conventional ideals of the body in the queer community, addressing tricky issues of objectification and over-sexualization, which often lead to feelings of body dysmorphia. Through their artistic collaboration, they push the boundaries of creative expression while encouraging viewers to meditate on their own identity and place within the queer community.
