Vernissage Merci pour la Musique! de Els Vermeesch |
Exhibition from May 6 to 24 at the Maison de la Laïcité Victor Tedesco at 11 rue des Déportés 6700 Arlon.
Els Vermeesch, a passionate artist, always harbored a desire for an artistic education. Her first steps in this world led her to three years of study at an artistic high school, followed by five years at the academy, specializing in oil painting at St-Lucas in Antwerp. With an art degree in hand, she quickly found her place in the world of exhibitions, receiving invitations to present her work in Antwerp, Brasschaat, Kapellen, and other places.
Over the years, Els has dedicated his time to developing his own artistic style, exploring different techniques, navigating from figurative to abstract. This evolution was not instantaneous, but it enriched his artistic practice significantly.
For Els, what she paints is also of great importance. Her personal life introduced her to the ups and downs that everyone faces, and she learned that music is a powerful medicine for the soul. Music accompanies her in all aspects of her life: she dances in joy, cries in sadness, finds comfort in difficult times and strength in times of doubt.
Convinced that music transcends barriers of skin color, religion and political preferences, Els believes in its unifying power. In a world that sometimes seems divided, she sees music as a valuable means of connection, a force that responds to an urgent need of our time.
