Concert Stan Ford - Piano Week
With Piano Week, which will take place from April 29 to May 5, 2024, a new format will see the light of day in our programming: a thematic week dedicated entirely to an instrument. The program will include masterclasses, recitals, teacher concerts and student auditions. The stylistic range will be very wide: film music, theme evenings, commented concerts, with forays into the field of the harpsichord – ancestor of the piano – as well as that of jazz.
Alongside these different concert formats targeting audiences from all backgrounds, this thematic week also pursues an educational goal: in fact, the program includes two masterclasses, one with Olivier De Spiegeleir and the other with Stan Ford. Thus, Conservatory students will have the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of two renowned pianists and pedagogues. Students will also have the opportunity to show the fruit of their work by performing at several public auditions.
American pianist Stan Ford is from St. Louis, Missouri. He studied piano, chamber music and music education at the University of Southern Illinois. Since 1986 he has been a professor at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. His career as a soloist and chamber musician has taken him around the world and his recordings for radio and television have made him famous. A passionate teacher, he gives masterclasses all over the world.
