An impressive system of fortifications, almost entirely disappeared since the Treaty of London in 1867, defended Kirchberg and protected the fortress town. The engineer Vauban, who directed the work of the siege in 1684, received the mission of developing a project for the reinforcement of the fortress. The museum offers two-hour guided tours of these fortifications.
IMPORTANT: Participants must be equipped with suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and a flashlight. The tour includes underground galleries.
