Gather, organize, preserve. Chipped pots, fragments of fabric, tools that we no longer know how to use, sometimes a small piece, almost nothing, which invite us to imagine the object from which it comes and the use we made of it ago 1000 years or more Vestiges of ancient civilizations, nails, rings, knives, statuettes acquire the same status and are today exhibited together, preciously. Why is so much attention paid to the everyday artifacts of our ancestors, when our modern possessions are often trivialized? While our recycling centers are constantly filling up, what nostalgia, what fascination, what curiosity pushes us to dig, scratch, dust the ground in search of old memories? What taste for storage encourages people to build museums to organize objects made so long ago by size, material and function? These questions raised by the Archaeological Museum of the city of Arlon nourish and animate the students of the jewelry, ceramics and textile creation workshop of the Academy of Fine Arts of Arlon. This exhibition is a dialogue between art and archaeology.
