In this online exhibition offered by the Municipal Archives, explore the urban history of the City of Metz and its architectural heritage through the superposition of old and contemporary photographs.

In this 2024 edition, you will be able to discover new emblematic places like the Temple Neuf or the Porte Serpenoise, but also more little-known places. Around twenty places can be compared in total, using mapping and interactive tools.

This digital experience is offered as part of the METÆ project, a space for promotion and discovery allowing everyone to access, remotely and easily, numerous digitized and geolocated resources. These eclectic and precious documents, preserved in the Municipal Archives of Metz, tell the formidable history of the city of Metz, that of its neighborhoods, its streets and its buildings.
