Sewing is an integral part of artist Mary-Audrey Ramirez's creative techniques. Before moving on to larger works, the artist often practices "automatic sewing", a technique based on the same principles as automatic writing, that is to say a spontaneous way of creating which is not neither dictated by conscience nor by will.

In this workshop, participants use a sewing machine, fabric and thread to create a work in “automatic mode”. The creative processes will be experimental and the results as unexpected as they are astonishing.
