Expo | Belval : Une friche industrielle en reconversion
Michaël Latran is deeply attached to black and white film photography. In 2019, he wanted to develop further in this field and enrolled in a film workshop led by the talented photographer Christian Deblanc. This experience was a decisive step in his artistic journey, allowing him to refine his technique and explore new perspectives. Today, Michaël masters each stage of the creation of his works, from shooting to printing the prints and works independently in his own lab. Michaël developed his artistic approach centered on architectural, landscape and portrait photography. The photos presented are part of a series produced in 2020 on the colossal project to rehabilitate the Belval industrial site. Michaël wanted, through this series, to share his vision of this very marked architectural confrontation between a steelmaking past and a new architecture. We sense through the series the very strong desire to integrate revegetation into this rehabilitation project. Michaël pays a lot of attention to transcribing images faithful to the atmosphere of the place. Working in the 4x5 inch technical camera but in his black and white universe.
