Guy Cabay
45 years ago, Guy Cabay recorded two extraordinary albums sung in Walloon from Liège, which he made sound like bossa nova that you would swear came straight from Rio de Janeiro. Two records largely forgotten, until Bertrand Burgalat, dandy-digger, pioneer of new and old sounds, reissued them last year in a single jubilant volume, “Cabaycédaire”, on his label Tricatel . An extraordinary story for this jazz vibrationist, retired from the Brussels Conservatory and musicologist, which allows us to rediscover Antônio Carlos Jobim de Theux almost half a century later.
