Seed Library : Semence et présentation de la LSG et du Moulin J.P. dieschbourg
LSG was founded in 1960 by a handful of far-sighted and committed farmers. The objective was to produce high quality certified and controlled seeds in order to reduce crop failures and diseases, and to gain independence from abroad. A new seed station was able to start production in July/August 2020. It is the only seed station of this type in Luxembourg, and the most modern in the entire Greater Region.
For more than six decades, LSG has been an integral and important part of the Luxembourg agricultural economy. Thanks to a significant effort to always act at the service of its customers, LSG is known as a supplier of quality seeds well beyond the borders of the Grand Duchy.
Discover the history of LSG with Steve Turmes, who will explain the exciting world of wheat production in Luxembourg. What is the difference between winter wheat and spring wheat? How many square meters of wheat production are there in the country? What is wheat used for in Luxembourg? All these questions and more will be answered by Steve Turmes.
This conference will be completed by a presentation of the Moulin Dieschbourg by its director Yves Dieschbourg. The Dieschbourg family produced flour between 1897-2018 in Lauterborn/Echternach.
