Did you know that Joseph Kutter's birthplace was located a few meters from the museum? That his art of portraiture was part of a large family practice? That the former cubist residence of the artist, very avant-garde for its time, has just been the subject of rehabilitation work respectful of the original spirit? That Kutter's unique technique today leads to specific preservation methods? To crown the success of our crowdfunding campaign Klammt mat an d'Course! and promote the important acquisition of the Champion, an iconic painting in the work of Joseph Kutter, the museum invites you to take a fresh look at its collection by placing the artist and his different facets at the center of a retrospective of an original character. Defending a sustainable scenographic concept, exhibition curators Lis Hausemer and Muriel Prieur will reinvest the Kutter rooms to show the context in which the painter lived and thus reveal the intimacy of his creative universe through the art of portraiture. A program of events and activities also accompanies the exhibition.
