European drawings and sculptures, 17 - 19 centuries The permanent exhibition at Villa Vauban takes the visitor on a journey through three centuries of artistic creation: from the Dutch 17th century through the dream places of Italy to French painting around the middle of the 19th century. In addition to styles and periods with numerous masterpieces, the exhibition allows you to discover small formats and miniatures as well as a spectacular room dedicated to the acquisitions of Pescatore, donor and benefactor of the City, during the auction of works in the possession of the King William II of the Netherlands in 1850. This wide variety of subjects and artistic styles is taken up in an immersive video projection at the very beginning of the tour which puts visitors in the atmosphere of the works they will discover during their walk through art.
